My husband loves Baloy Long Beach in Olongapo so much that he wants to visit the place once a year either during summer vacation or during his birthday month, August.
The reasons he fell in love with this place:
1. proximity to Metro Manila, it was only an hour and half bus ride from Victory Liner Monumento
with P207.00 air con bus fare. Tricycle ride going to Baloy from the main road is only P20.00 but it is only about 10-15 minutes walk.
2. the long stretch of shoreline in fine light gray sand, good for walking
3. the resorts, there are many to choose from along the coastline, these are also reasonably priced
4. the food, there are restaurants that served steak ( tenderloin, rib eyed) prices ranges
from P495 to P795 ( with fresh salad from the buffet table - you have to get as much as you
want in one plate only) also served with rice or french fries.
There are also eat all you can restaurants in the city and in Barretto.
But this year our vacation coincide with typhoon's Ineng visit to the country, so it was raining during the two days we were at The TREASURE ISLANDS RESORT.
We somehow were able to walk along the beach in the afternoon on our second day, when the rained stopped for a while but we can not swim in the beach because of the litters still being carried by the waves.
This budget resort facing Baloy Beach features rooms to suit different budgets. They have six types of rooms namely: Standard, Deluxe, Beachfront Deluxe, Family, Ocean View and Suite. All the rooms are airconditioned and is equipped with basic amenities like private toilet and bath with hot and cold shower, refrigerator, minibar, safety deposit box, cable TV and free wifi internet access. A restaurant which is open 24 hours is also available onsite and serves Filipino and American menus. The resort also features an outdoor swimming pool.
The resort was in rainy days promo P1,900 / overnight but the 2nd night is at 50% off so our total accommodation is P2,850.00. The room has a ref, air con, TV w/ cable, hot & cold shower, wifi, room can accommodate 3 persons, there an extra sofa bed. There were towels, soap and shampoo.
Because of the bad weather, it became a food trip vacation. We had our merienda and dinner at Johanns Resort Restaurant just next door to our resort.
Lunch on our 2nd day was in the city proper. We met my brother & his family ( Ate Tess & Ruffiel) at Jade's Hotel in ther city along Magsaysay Rd near SM Olongapo , for their eat all you can buffet only @ P179/head.
Dinner was at the Barefeet Bar & Restaurant at Baloy. Steak is being served with fresh salad (from the buffet area) make your own single serving in one plate.

Lunch on our 3rd day was at Rico's Restaurant at Barretto, eat all you can at P140.00/ head.
